Tough Weekend for Clarke's Caravan of Child Prodigies
Well the weekend did produce a triumphant USA Women's victory over England (sorry Chris and Clarice) and some outstanding performances that would place some of the Bethesda Girls along side their US Team on the ESPN highlight reel, but the Ladies of the Blue and White came away with a tie and a loss this weekend. Bethesda Blue travelled to Waldorf and performed magnificently in a 2-2 draw with the Waldorf SC. Clearly outplaying their opponents and dazzling the standing room only crowd with their skilz, the Blues just continue to shine and show their outstanding abilities. Great Job BB!
BANNER WEEKEND FOR CLARKE'S CRUSADERS
Well Coach Chris Clarke got the Ladies of Bethesda running on all cylinders, performing phenomenally as both White and Blue won 2 games a piece over the past weekend. On Saturday, the Blues kicked off the festivities by defeating their arch nemesis SAC Classic I, 2-1 in a hardfought, but Bethesda dominated game in Columbia. Later in the day, the girls were sharp and on target as the Whites travelled up north to Hagerstown to corral Hagerstown FC 6-1.
Season Opens With Impressive Performances
Although the scoreline did not reflect it, the Bethesda Academy Girls had an impressive performance this past weekend. The Bethesda Blue started the day off like a jet, but unfortunately lost their CMSSL season opener 2-1. The Blues dominated the game with their superior skill and determination, but unfortunately could not catch a break. The Bethesda White mirrored their sister team, clearly dominating the match and controlling the ball in their opponents half the majority of the game. But some unfortunate circumstances allowed the the visitors scoring opportunities as BW lost 5-1.
Bethesda Invades Howard County at the OBGC Capital Cup!!!
The Ladies of the U9 Bethesda Academy invaded Howard County at the OBGC Capital Cup Tournament this past weekend and put on an outstading display of skill. The Bethesda White started off the tournament saturday morning against the Baltimore Bays Elite. Always a powerful and athletic team with a history of success in Maryland soccer, the Bays were a formitable and very crisp in their execution. But the BW girls turned in a valiant and courageous effort, continuing their attacking ways, to earn a very well deserved and hard fought 1-1 draw with their northern neighbors.
